Pr Comr DDA also visits PHC Sheeri, takes stock of facilities being provided

B’la : Principal Commissioner, Delhi Development Authority, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Rajeev Kumar Tiwari, who is also the Central Prabhari Officer for Aspirational District Baramulla, Monday visited the district to get first hand appraisal of development indicators and parameters identified under centrally sponsored “Aspirational Districts” programme besides reviewing implementation of other schemes in the district.

On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr. Syed SehrishAsgar briefed the Principal Commissioner about the district profile and the progress achieved under the parameters under Aspirational District Programme.

While assessing performance of different departments, Rajeev Kumar Tiwari expressed satisfaction over the progress achieved so far and further issued instructions to DC to monitor all the developmental works and accomplish the pending task in a time bound manner.

He also congratulated district administration Baramulla for achieving milestones under Aspirational district Programme.

On the occasion, Institutional deliveries, working of Health and wellness centers under Health and Nutrition in the district were thoroughly discussed with the chair.

Under Agriculture and Water Resources, the concerned officer briefed the chair that the department is highly focused for Crop diversification for which Four High tech poly houses and eighteen tubular poly houses have been put in place in order to popularise agricultural practices of growing high yielding crops and mixed cropping.

It was also given out that Production of fruits and other Horticultural produce in the district has increased to five lac metric tons.

Chief Education Officer Baramulla While briefing about Education Sector said transition rate has improved with minimal drop outs in the district. He added that Water facilities in schools has also been saturated in the district.

Meanwhile, other parameters under various sectors were also comprehensively discussed by the concerned departments.

After reviewing the progress of all the departments, Central Prabhari Officer laid specific emphasis on departments to work in a close coordination and synergy to remove all impediments in a time bound manner so that the progress and development is not hampered.

He also directed that Schools be inspected at zonal level for community hygiene vis a vis toilet facilities available in the schools of the district.

The Principal Commissioner also laid special focus on Survey for reporting farmer’s income in the district.

Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Aijaz Abdullah Saraf, Joint Director Planning M.Yousuf Rather heads of various concerned departments among others attended the meeting.

Later, the Principal Commissioner also visited various places including PHC Sheeri where he took stock of the facilities being provided to the patients. He also interacted with attendants and patients and enquired about the health services being provided by the Hospital administration.

On the occasion, he directed the concerned authorities to ensure that all the required medicare and other necessary facilities are provided effectively and efficiently to the patients without any fail.
