Mega City Festival held at Kulgam

Cultural prog, Sports activities, musical band performances, awareness prog marked the event

K’gam :A mega City Festival was Thursday celebrated at Sports Stadium Kulgam titled, ‘City Festival Kulgam’ and was organized by Municipal Council Kulgam in collaboration with District Administration Kulgam and District Youth Services and Sports office Kulgam.
On the occasion, Stadium remained abuzz with Cultural programmes, Sports activities, musical band performances, awareness programmes with themes ‘Say No to Drugs’, ‘Ill Effects of Polythene’ besides on other issues.
DDC Chairperson, Mohd Afzal Parray; Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Dr.BilalMohi-Ud-Din Bhat; Director Urban Local bodies Kashmir, MathoraMasoom; Municipal Council President, Muneeb Ahmad; DDC members Ishtiyaq Ahmad, Ruby Jan, JameelaChowdhary, Gulzar Ahmad, AnayatUllah Rather, Mohd Ibrahim, Mohammad Abas Rather and others.
During the festival, multifarious sports activities were held in which students and youth from various schools participated.
A martial art show was also presented during the event. Besides, Volleyball, Tug of war, Kabadi and other games were also played.
The festival witnessed colourful and mesmerizing cultural programmes presented by renowned artists.
The President Municipal Council Kulgam Muneeb Ahmad Zargar said that such programs will be organized in future also.
Director Urban Local bodies Kashmir, MathoraMasoom said that the aim of the programme is to make towns and cities clean and polythene free and these programmes serve as a platform to reach out to the people to spread the message of swachhta.
ADC, Showkat Ahmad Rather; CEO-ADA, Ghalib Hussain; JD-Planning, Zahid Sajad; ACR, Mir Imtiyaz-ul-Aziz; Tehsildar HQ, Ali Mohd; EO- MC Kulgam, Mohd Irfan; SHO Kulgam and other senior officers were also present in the event.
