Handwara:Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Handwara and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued on Wednesday police said that a police party of Police Station Kralgund during naka checking at Ananwan crossing intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK01G-7994 with two persons on board and upon checking recovered around 106 grams of Charas like substance from their possession.
Stating that the said accused accused have been identified as identified as Feroz Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Shaban Bhat and Arshid Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Abdullah Bhat, both residents of Langate and were subsequently arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody, Police in it’s statement further said that the vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.Police in its statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 47/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Kralgund and further investigation has been initiated.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt strictly as per law.
