3 held in Handwara, 50Kgs of Trillium Govanianum recovered: Police

Hanswara: Police on Monday said that it has arrested three persons along with an endangered Trillium Govanianum medicinal herb in Qalamabad Handwara.
In a statement issued on Monday police said that a police party of Police Station Qalamabad at a checkpoint established at Lach Qalamabad, intercepted a vehicle bearing Registration No. JK09-2155 with three persons onboard identified as Shafiq Ahmad Khan son of Ali Mohd &Reyaz Ahmad Khan son of Aziz Rehman Khan both residents of Mankal and Jameel Ahmad Mir son of GhMohd resident of Check Sanzipora and upon checking recovered endangered medicinal herb Trillium Govanianum (Local name Tri Patri) weighing around 50 kg from their possession, stating therein further that the said accused have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody and vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Police in its statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 39/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Qalamabad and investigation has been initiated. In the concluding para of it’s statement police said that consistent actions against the anti-social elements confirms its pledge to act tough against individuals involved in any criminal activities.
