Drug peddler held in Budgam, Psychotropic substance recovered: Police

B’gam: Police on Saturday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Budgam and also recovered psychotropic substances from his possession.
In a statement issued on Saturday police said that a Police party from Police Station Chadoora at a checking point established near Govt. Hr. Secondary School Panzan intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK04F-0682 and upon checking recovered 66 bottles of Chlorpheniramine Maleate & Codeine Phosphate based syrup (Controlled drug) from the vehicle.
Stating further that the vehicle used in the commission of crime has been also seized and the drug peddler identified as Firdous Ahmad Wani son of Ghulam Ahmad Wani resident of Chadoora was arrested, Police in its statement further said that a case FIR number 117/2022 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Chadoora and investigation has been taken up.
In the concluding para of its statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt strictly as per law.
