Steady rise in Covid cases: A wake up call

With daily no of covid cases showing steady rise and three covid deaths reported on three consecutive days from Jammu region, strict adherence to covid protocols would probably be the only way to keep the steady rise in the covid cases and deaths under control in  Jammu & Kashmir. The heavy inflow of tourists in Jammu & Kashmir this year necessitates the strict adherence to covid protocols in both Kashmir valley and as well as Jammu division. Though recently Director General Civil Aviation (DGCA) declared use of masks for air travelers mandatory at the airports across the country but both the travelers and as well as the people arriving and departing at the airports don’t strictly adhere to covid protocols with the seriousness they were following them in high intensity covid periods during last three years of pandemic across the country. Carelessness shown by people in following covid protocols in markets and other public places could also be the cause of a steady rise in covid cases noticed during last few days in Jammu & Kashmir. Steady rise in covid cases necessitates strict adherence to covid protocols to prevent more rise in covid cases in both Kashmir valley and Jammu region. Wisdom demands that people strictly follow covid protocols in government offices, markets, hospitals, shopping malls and such other public places. Over 20 covid cases a day reported during last few days in Jammu & Kashmir is by all probabilities a wakeup call for both the government and as well as the people and before the daily tally of covid cases rises to over and above 30, it would be better for the people to follow covid protocols on their own without waiting for the Government to issue an advisory on strict enforcement of covid protocols again.

Not only strict adherence to covid protocols but overwhelming response to covid vaccination drives undertaken for both children and as well as adults could probably again bring down the daily covid tally from over 20 cases just to 1 or 2 . Better for the people not to allow any kind of carelessness to disturb their daily life the wayit disturbed them in high intensity covid periods during last three years of pandemic .The onus lies more on people and less on health workers and the government in  Jammu & Kashmir.

Since further rise in covid cases could by all probabilities hit the business operations again and consequently also the livelihood opportunities of people working at the local business outlets in both Kashmir valley and as well as Jammu division, the strict adherence to covid protocols and overwhelming response to the covid vaccination drives are the only ways to contain the steady rise in daily covid tally. As such not only strict adherence to covid protocols but overwhelming response to covid vaccination drives undertaken for both children and as well as adults could probably again bring down the daily covid tally from over 20 cases just to 1 or 2 . Better for the people not to allow any kind of carelessness to disturb their daily life the wayit disturbed them in high intensity covid periods during last three years of pandemic .The onus lies more on people and less on health workers and the government in  Jammu & Kashmir.
