Mobilize resources in advance for smooth conduct of Amarnath Yatra: Div Com (K) to Officers

Officers directed to keep 10 days stock of essentials at camps to reduce carriage frequency

Srinagar: As the commencement of annual Amarnath Yatra has approached, the Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole Wednesday convened a meeting of officers to review the status of preparation by all the civil departments and district administration of Ganderbal and Anantnag.
While chairing the meeting, Div Com exhorted on the officers to complete the respective arrangements for Annual Amarnath Yatra before June 27 so no shortfall of services shall occur and yatris are provided all facilities.
On the occasion, he directed officers to mobilize resources including staff and machinery before time and asked them to keep ten days stock of requirements and essentials at camps to avoid frequent carriage and supplies.
He reviewed the status of restoration of power supply and installation of street lights upto holy cave; availability and stocking of rice, wheat flour, kerosene & diesel at camps and routes for consumption; registration of labours and animals; installation of health booths, First Aid centers, oxygen booths, oxygen manifolds, oxygen supplied beds, ICU beds etc.
Meanwhile, he asked Airtel for extending network facility beyond Domail to Holy cave to facilitate yatries and service providers. Div Com directed SE PHE to increase the number of taps at water RO so the places do not get crowded.
Moreover, he issued strict directions to officers of labour department and Animal Husbandry department to pace up registration of labours and animals. He warned for any shortfall as the number of pilgrims visiting holy cave would be higher than previous years.
He issued directions for Camp Directors to check the physical status of civic facilitate provided by respective departments.
Besides, Div Com also asked Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry Department Kashmir to ensure that doctors of Insurance Company shall be stationed in camps for postmortem of dead animals for settlement of insurance claims.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag; officers of RDD, ULB, PHE, R&B, PDD, Health, Labour, Animal Husbandry and other departments.
Earlier, Div Com held a traffic management meeting for SANJY during which he reviewed the plan for smooth transportation of yatra convoys, registration of vehicles, halt stations, time management, stationing of recovery vans, escort and security of yatries, route management and other related matters.
The meeting was attended by DC Ganderbal, ADC Anantnag& ADC Srinagar; Commissioner, SMC; DIG Traffic and other officers of traffic department; RTO Kashmir, CE, R&B, CEO Pahalgam &Sonmarg, Camp Directors and Incharge Annual Amarnath Yatra Control Room.
