Awareness Camp on Yuva Sahakar scheme held at Budgam

Cooperative deptt improving livelihood, leading to prosperity: Dy Registrar

B’gam: The Department of Cooperative, Budgam Saturday organized a daylong awareness camp on YuvaSahakar, a Cooperative enterprise support and innovation scheme, at Boys Higher Secondary School Budgam.
Deputy Registrar, Department of Cooperative Budgam, AbidaParveen, who was Chief Guest on the occasion emphasized on society forming and urged youth to come forward and thrive for their better future.
While highlighting the importance of the YuvaSahakar scheme, Deputy Registrar said this scheme by NCDC can improve the livelihood of youth and turn both male and female into successful entrepreneurs with full support under various schemes.
She said that when the unemployment rate is high, our youth must aspire to become employers instead of employees.
She further said that the Cooperative department is ready to extend full support to the aspiring youth to make them self-reliant and independent.
“The Cooperative belongs to the public, there is no limit as you can opt for any activity and start any unit of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry or any other allied sector, without much interference from the government,” she said.
She said there are as many as 173 Cooperative societies and most of them are functional in Budgam.
During the camp, various resource persons from Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and other allied departments spoke on their start up schemes, supported by the government with subsidy components and insurance.
The resource persons laid emphasis on registering and forming Cooperative societies to stand up together to avail benefits of various government schemes and initiatives.
Among the resources persons were Chief Horticulture Officer, Budgam, Dr M. Iqbal Baba, Dr IshratNaveed from Agriculture, Dr KhadimHussain from Animal Husbandry and others spoke on various schemes including mushroom development units, Apiculture unit, farm machinery, custom Hiring Centre, organic farming, exotic vegetable cultivation, KCC, PM Kissan, IDDS scheme, milk van, bulk milk cooler, poultry farms, cold store, subsidy and insurance cover schemes.
Later, the Chief Guest also felicitated and distributed registration certificates among the Cooperative societies.
