Shopian: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya Friday inspected Jamabandi Digitization Centres in the district.
During his inspection, the DC said that digitization is imperative for streamlining the revenue records and making revenue records easily accessible to the public through online based platforms.
The DC said this during his inspection to the Revenue Record Room established at Government Girls Higher Secondary school Shopian. He reviewed the progress on implementation of the Land Records Modernization Programme.
ACR gave a detailed resume of digitization programmes to the DC including safe custody of revenue documents, data entry, and digitization of maps, Jamabandi and updation with latest mutation records.
While interacting with the officers, the DC said that the comprehensive digitization would ensure better land record management that will enhance the district’s overall land record maintenance forever.
The DC inspected various sections of the Land Records Office and inquired about computerization and directed for its proper maintenance.
On Jamabandi, the DC said that it is a challenging task and directed for keeping it properly up to date and well maintained and stressed upon officers and staff to complete the process of digitization of records in fixed timelines.
Among others, the DC was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Shopian, Shahbaz Ahmed Bodha and Tehsildar Shopian, Fida Mohammad.
