Srinagar: Chairman Jammu & Kashmir People’s Democratic Front (J&K PDF) and former Minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen has urged the government to safeguard service prospects of the employees of SKICC. He said proposal to make changes in the management system of the corporation has created doubts among the employees who seek protection to their employment and redressal of other grievances.
“Services of employees working in SKICC from decades should be secured at all costs, Hakeem said in a statement issued on Tuesdays . He said that the employees of SKICC have put in their prime youth to serve in the corporation so it will be sheer injustice if their livelihood is affected. He said employees of the corporation were very much anxious about their future with regards to livelihood adding that the government should ensure that salaries of the employees of SKICC are paid timely as before and their service prospects safeguarded appropriately .
PDF Chairman has also made a fervent appeal to LG Manoj Sinha to regularise the services of daily wagers, need based , HDF, casual workers and contractual employees working in various government and semi- government departments . ” This is the real workforce who actually work on ground to provides services to the people on regular basis ,” Hakeem Yaseen observed . He has urged for disbursement of the pending wages of all DRWs , casual labourers ,need based and HDF workers . Hakeem has also urged the government to provide compensation to the farmers and orchardists whose crops and fruit have been damaged due to recent strong windstorm and hailstorm in various areas of the Kashmir valley . He said field functionaries of the revenue ,agriculture and horticulture departments should be directed to submit report about the quantum of damage caused to crops at the earliest so that case for payment of compensation in favour of the affected farmers is processed without delay .
