Fin Minister disccuses GST implementation with Guv

Srinagar: Dr. Haseeb A. Drabu, Minister for Finance, Labour and Employment, met Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here Thursday.

Dr. Drabu briefed the Governor about the implementation of GST in the State and apprised about the positive response of the business community in the migration to the new tax regime.

The Minister informed that the State Commercial Taxes and Excise Department has been oriented to perform an advisory and guidance role and has been tasked to organize state wide programs regarding the shift over to GST Act and to assist the stakeholders about the provisions and procedure for migration to the new tax system. Dr. Drabu said government is making all out efforts to create a congenial environment and extend full support for promoting industrial growth in the State.

Dr. Drabu also discussed with Governor certain issues regarding effective fiscal management, and its direct co-relation with increased resource mobilisation, which is inescapable for advancing the pace of socio-economic development of the State.
