Aryans Group of Colleges shortlists 50 tribal students under “Aryans JK Super 50” Prog

Jammu: Fulfilling its commitment towards facilitating needy and deserving tribal youth of Jammu and Kashmir with scholarships, Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, Chandigarh, Friday shortlisted 50 such candidates under “Aryans JK super 50” programme during an event organized by the group here at Panchayat Bhawan, Jammu.
The Aryans Group received hundreds of applications from the students for various technical courses at Aryans.
The event was virtually attended by Secretary, Tribal Affairs, Dr.Shahid Iqbal Choudhary as chief guest while Deputy Director, Tribal Affairs Department, Dr Abdul Khabir, and Nodal Officer, Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS), J&K, AjeetAngral were the guests of honour on the occasion.
Chairman, Aryans Group, Dr.AnshuKataria, presided over the function.
Terming the initiative as a noble effort by the Aryans group under Corporate Social Responsibility, Dr.Shahid exhorted upon the selected students to optimally utilize this opportunity to make their lives better. He appreciated the group for their outstanding contribution towards welfare and development of under privileged segments of the society.
Pertinently, Aryans Group of Colleges will not charge any extra fee and will ensure that the students get quality education.
Dr. Abdul Khabir, said that tribal students of Jammu & Kashmir get a maximum of Rs 30,000/ to 40,000 per annum as scholarship amount while the tuition fee being charged by the colleges is as high as Rs 80,000. Pertinent to mention here, a committee has been constituted by the administrative department to look into the revision of scholarship amount.
Prof AjeetAngral, said that there several special scholarship schemes for J&K students to pursue higher education outside state and emphasized the need to create massive awareness on this account. He appreciated the move taken by the Aryan Group of Colleges in this regard.
Dr.AnshuKataria, while expressing gratitude to Tribal Affairs Department, J&K, said that the needy and deserving 50 students for Aryans Super 50 program have been shortlisted on merit cum means basis. The existing Aryans J&K students are not only academically strong in Engineering, Management, Law, Pharmacy, Nursing, Agriculture and other relevant fields but they are making J&K proud by the dint of their aptitude and innovative minds.
Dr.Garima Thakur, Deputy Director, Aryans Group, made a detailed presentation on various technical programs being offered at Aryans Group.
Later, Manpreet Mann, Dean, Scholarships explained various scholarship programs including Post Matric and Minority scholarship along with eligibility criteria where the selected students could be benefited.
On the occasion, faculty of Aryans Group including Engineer Jaswinder Singh, Engineer Anil Kumar, Engineer Rayees, Engineer Saqib and Engineer Ankita Thakur were also present.
