Kulgam: The Department of Youth Services and Sports Kulgam Thursday organised a cycle rally to celebrate International Cycle day as part of the ‘Azadika Amrit Mahotsav’ campaign.
The department organised a cycle rally from main chowkLaroo via Bypass and passed through main chowkChowalgam and culminated at Sports Stadium Kulgam.
The rally was flagged-off by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kulgam, Showket Ahmad Rather.
The rally was participated by 140 boys who came from various higher secondary schools of district Kulgam.
On the occasion ADC highlighted the importance and benefits of using cycle now a days by the common public.
Addressing the participants, the chief guest said that the cycle being eco-friendly and cheapest means of transport its use in general can minimize the pollution, save economy and develop fitness
Later, medals among top ten positions were distributed during the felicitation ceremony.
