Rajouri: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, VikasKundal today chaired a meeting of the concerned officer to review the functioning of the Fisheries department.
Among the others, ADDC, Pawan Kumar; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; AD Fisheries, Munish Sharma were present in the meeting.
At the outset, the AD Fisheries informed that there are two fish breeding farms in the district including a trout farm at Phalni in Budhal and one carp farm at Muradpur.
While reviewing the implementation of Pradhan MantriMatsyaSampadaYojana (PMMSY) in the district, the AD Fisheries informed the meeting that the scheme aims to enhance production through expansion, intensification, diversification and productive utilization of land and water.
He said that with the abundant availability of water resources the district has a huge potential in the fisheries sector and asked the concerned officer to promote it as a lucrative self-employment option.
