Gang of burglars, car lifters busted in B’la: Police

B’la|: Police on Tuesday said that it has busted a gang of burglars/car lifters by arresting five persons involved in various cases in Baramulla.
In a statement issued on Tuesday police said that during the course of investigation of cases FIR Nos 267/2021, 72/2022, 85/2022, 86/2022, 88/2022, 90/2022 and 93/2022 of PS Baramulla, Police have arrested five persons involved in the commission of crime and they have been identified as Baber Bashir Bala son of Bashir Ahmad resident of Krankshun Sopore, Sahil Ahmad Kaloo son of Farooq Ahmad resident of Takyabal Sopore, Waseem Ahmad Chatbali son of Bashir Ahmad resident of Sheer Colony Sopore, Irfan Ashraf Bhat son of Mohd Ashraf Bhat resident of Fatehpora Baramulla and Mohd Iqbal Banday son of Gh Mohammad Banday resident of Sangri Baramulla.
Stating that on the disclosure of the above named accused several stolen vehicles and other stolen items have been recovered from their possession, police in it’s above referred statement said “ preliminary investigation reveals that the said gang of car lifters are committing crimes in an organized way by assigning duties to each of its member viz, Baber Bashir Bala was assigned task of lifting/stealing vehicles from different parts of valley, Sahil Ahmad Kaloo disassembled these vehicles into parts and further dispatching to Waseem Ahmad Chatbali who was assigned of sending these parts to outside of J&K.
Police further said that burglar Irfan Ashraf Bhat was involved in theft of power cord (Electric wire) in newly constructed residential houses at Gulnar Park & Kralhar, stating therein further that Stolen property electric wire has been also recovered.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police appreciated efforts of the investigation team in cracking the burglary cases and resolved to act tough against individuals involved in any kind of criminal activities.
