Jammu: EPFO Regional Office Jammu on Thursday conducted a series of outreach programs in two Industrial houses each based in Samba and Kathua Districts.
An Outreach programme was held at Grauer& Well (I) Ltd, Ph-II- Industrial Area Samba in association with Association of Industries Samba.
Rizwan Uddin, P F Commissioner, J&K and Ladakh visited the area for the first time after his joining in July, 2021. After initial introduction, detailed discussion was held on Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995 and Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme, 1976.
The Employers were advised to complete KYC (especially Aaadhar) of all regular and contractual employees in a time bound manner to avail online services of the EPFO.
The representatives of Industrial Association Samba Raman Jolly, Arjun Malhotra, Jaspal Singh, Rohit, Vinay Sharma, Sushil Sharma, PrabhatKumar, D.C Sharma, VarunBalgotra, Balbeer Kumar, Amit Khanna, Satish Kumar and Gaurav were also present in the outreach programme.

Speaking on the occasion, the P F Commissioner, J&K and Ladakh emphasized on providing benefits to workers under Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995 and Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme, 1976, e- Nomination and KYC.
Long-awaited Technical issue was resolved through solution provided by IS Division and about 4000 records in respect of M/s Sutlej Textiles and Industries Limited were corrected till 02.06.2022 to facilitate the processing ofcases. However, the employees were informed that they will submit the claims from Monday onwards in view of bulk records in process that will affect system speed also.
Meanwhile, the PF Final claim of Mohammad Aftab Ansari with leaving date of 08.05.2020 was processed on the sport for Rs 11,202/. Similarly, the claim of Saudagar Kumar was also processed for Rs 23,898/ and thatof Ajay Sangria for Rs. 30,846/-.
The Regional P.F Commissioner highlighted that all those eligible employees who were deprived of the pension were now covered under the Employees’ Pension Scheme after the implementation of the EPF & MP Act, 1952 in J&K and Ladakh from 01st Nov 2019.
“In case of any causality, the pension will be paid to the widow/widower, children of the deceased member. Also, in case of disability, the employee will be given pension throughout his life” he added. It was also emphasized that an employee with service tenure of 10 years up to the age of superannuation (58 years) will be eligible for pension benefits under EPS 1995.
He also explained the benefits of the Employees Deposit Linked Insurance scheme, 1976 and the Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995 which the subscribers of J&K and Ladakh were previously deprived of or benefits were considerably lesser than that of EPF Act. Provident Fund members under EPFO are also eligible for insurance benefit under EDLI Scheme up to Rs. 7 Lakh, while under erstwhile J&KEPF Act, 1961 benefit was available up to Rs 75000/, the participants were told.
