Block Diwas: DC Shopian convenes Public Outreach Prog at Mini Sectt

Shopian: As part of weekly Block Diwas initiative of the government, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya Wednesday presided over a Public Outreach Programme within the premises of Mini Secretariat, here.
S.P Shopian, Tanushree and ADDC Shopian, ManzoorHussain were also present on the occasion.
People, prominent Civil Society and PRI members from various areas of the district including Ramnagri, Chotipora, Gatipora, Sedow, Narapora, Borihalan, Heerpora and from Zainpora and Keller Blocks attended the programme.
People and PRI members put forth their grievances and demands regarding provision of drinking water supply in uncovered areas, construction/ macadamization of link roads, release of pending payments under PMAY and SBM, repairs of lanes and drains, provision of electric poles and wires, installation of Transformers, completion of MGNREGA work estimation, sanctioning of SMAS cases and health care facilities in far off places of Shopian block.
DC heard the issues patiently as raised by the public and passed on spot instructions to the concerned departments for early execution of these works and coverage of people in welfare schemes as per norms, demanded by the public
Speaking on the occasion, DC said that the Government is committed to provide maximum benefits to the people who have great expectations with the Government and added that no stone would be left unturned in fulfilling the genuine concerns of the people of these areas.
He also appealed to the public, especially youth, to come forward and take part in development-related activities in their respective areas and seek employment avenues in execution of developmental works and avail benefits of different govt schemes and exhorted upon the public to be proactive in demanding resolution of their issues.
