One Day Awareness cum Career Counseling Workshop organised at Govt Degree College Chatroo.

Kishtwar|June,1 : In order to aware the students about various academic options and careers ahead, the District Employment and Counseling Centre Kishtwar in collaboration with the Career Counseling Cell of GDC Chatroo organised a one day workshop. The workshop was a part of the events organised in the college under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The programme was managed by Dr. Jamsheed Ahmed, Convener Career Counselling Cell under the guidance of Dr. Shafqat Hussain Rafiqi Principal GDC Chatroo and over all Supervision of Dr. Ashaq Hussain. The program started with a welcome address by Dr. Jamsheed Ahmad which was followed by the presentation of special ecofriendly bouquets prepared by the students to all the guests.
In his introductory speech Amit Kumar Assistant Director Employment and Counseling Centre Kishtwar enumerated the need of career counseling programs at college and school levels. He added that in this competitive world career counseling helps the students to understand the career options that they have, and further awareness them to understand their strengths and weaknesses with regard to their present course or profession. 
Later on in order to provide multifarious options to the students, invited resource persons from various fields, Imran Ahmad Accounts Officer to Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar,  Suman Ji Sharma Tehsildar Chatroo, Dr. Tabassum Saleem Assistant Professor English, Sameer Batt SHO Chatroo, Irfan Ahmed Lecturer GHSS Chatroo and Wasim Hasan Employment Officer Kishtwar interacted with the students and delivered lectures based on their respective fields and urged the students to set goals and build confidence to achieve  success in their careers. 
The speakers lauded the efforts of GDC Chatroo and Assistant Director Employment Kishtwar for arranging such type of programs with limited resources in one of the remotest colleges and assured the organisers of their full support and stressed for different collaborative efforts in future. 
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Ashaq Hussain while extending a special thanks to all the invited speakers congratulated the Career Counseling Cell of College and AD Employment Kishtwar for this initiative and expressed his satisfaction on the way how faculty has been working hard for the overall development of the students and the college. Dr Ashaq further added that such workshops are the need of the hour because of the ever expanding education system and the creation of new jobs opportunities and other career choices. 
At the end an interactive question-answer session was arranged between the students and the invited speakers which was the main highlight of the day. Students put forth their queries and doubts which were effectively answered by the resource persons. Towards the end a surprise quiz for the students was organised wherein prizes were distributed among the winners. The program ended with felicitation of the guest speakers and a formal vote of thanks which was presented by Dr. Muddasser Nazar. Other faculty members who played a major role in the workshop include Prof. Chander Parkash, Prof. Ajeet Kumar, Prof. Waseem Rashid, Dr. Jaswant Singh, Dr. Shabir Ahmed and Mr. Mudassir Butt
