Consistency is one of the blessings of the creator, bestowed to all human beings indiscriminately. Being faithful, Muslims are more consistent and consistent lovers. Muslims believe in the supreme power of Allah and follows His will—where will power and consistency holds central focus. Consistency holds power to make possible the plausibly impossible things. History is full of such anecdotes; people have achieved much more excellences, with the power of determination and consistency. The biographical anecdotes of prominent scientists like Sir Ishak Newton and Albert Einstein etc demonstrate the role of consistency in the formation of human contribution. Consistency does never mean repetitiveness but actually “is the quality of achieving a level of performance which does not vary greatly in quality over time” (Oxford Dictionary). Hence differs from repetition. It is performing a deed regularly but with the same quality, passion and enthusiasm. Approaching through Islamic perspective, Consistency is the crux of the scriptural texts. Quran repeatedly commands Muslims to be consistent. (Al-Quran, 11: 112; 41: 30). The Prophet Muhammad said in one of the traditions; “the most beloved deeds to Allah are the most consistent of them, even if they are few” (Bukhari & Muslim). The biography of holy Prophet, Khulafa-i-Rashidun, Tabieen, Taba Tabieen and the pious Sufis are fully impregnated with the examples of events where consistency worked and all other things failed.
The secret of success is mostly hidden in consistency. All people who are consistent, are successful ones and the vice versa. The inconsistency is one of the main reasons behind the unachievable of goals and dreams. Consistency leads towards the fulfillment of dreams and enhances the emotions to do the best while as inconsistency leads to dream big and do small. To be consistent in your intentions and actions, two things are highly needed; one is the remembrance of Allah and second is the companionship of pious Muslims. These two directly affects our heart and the heart pulls us towards the ultimate goal. For achieving the ultimate goal i-e the success of hereafter, this world is created to perform as good as you can. Doing well and be consistent on leads towards the betterment of here and hereafter. Today, our primary fault is that we are inconsistent and weak in will power. To get success in here and hereafter, the strong will power and consistency is inevitable. Hence, we need to introspect ourselves both individually and collectively and work to strengthen our will power and show consistency in all matters of life, in order to get desired results. This is the prime time to come forward and aware the people regarding the power of consistency and the draw-backs of inconsistency.
