DC Udhampur reviews annual Amarnath Yatra arrangements

Udhampur : To ensure smooth conduct of Amarnath Yatra, Deputy Commissioner, UdhampurKrittikaJyotsna Saturday conducted an extensive inspection of areas along the National Highway from Jakhani to Malhar and inspected the logistic arrangement available for yatris.
During the visit, the DC impressed uponthe officers to ensure that requisite arrangements are made available well in time at all places for hassle-free conduct of the yatra.
“The District Administration has to put in all possible efforts for providing best facilities to the yatris and make provision for safe drinking water, sanitation, electricity, lodging etc” she asked the Officers. She directed the concerned officers to formulate comprehensive sanitation, health, traffic management and lodging plans to ensure all comfort for Yatries. The Deputy Commissioner also inspected Langar sites and directed for identification of more locations suitable for developing Community toilets in a time-bound manner to facilitate yatries on highway.
After enquiring about the arrangements made by concerned departments, the DC directed CEO Municipality, Executive Engineer, PHE, PDD, PWD and TehsildarUdhampur to complete their assignments well in advance.
