Annual amaranth yatra, DC Ang conducts extensive tour of Chandanwari, reviews arrangements

Anantnag : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr PiyushSingla Friday undertook an extensive tour of Chandanwari area and various other developmental works enrouteChandanwari from Anantnag.
At Chandanwari, the DC reviewed the locational layout of various departments, face lifting of frisking area, development of langar spots, availability of toilet facilities, allotment of space to shops, ponywallas, waiting areas for Yatries, etc. He stressed that contingency and fire escape plans should be prepared for all the buildings, particularly those housing flammable items.
Dr Singla reviewed the ongoing macadamisation of Chandanwari Pahalgam road. He was informed that the work shall be completed in the coming days. He also visited the base camp hospital established at Chandanwari. He was apprised by the CMO that necessary staff has been deployed and stock of medicine has been procured.
The DC issued directions to various officials from R&B, FCS & CA, PDA regarding the ongoing works at Chandanwari and stressed upon them to expedite the completion within the next 15 days.
He also reviewed the construction underway on Martand Canal Bridge and Sarbal Bridge. Executive Engineer QaziJaved informed the DC that work on both the bridges is being executed as per stipulated timeline and both the bridges will be motorable by mid-June.
Dr Singla also inspected the expansion works underway at Sarbal Frisking Point. He issued directions to various departments at the spot and stressed on readiness and proper planning to reduce time spent at frisking point. He further inspected several toilet units being constructed at Frisking point and in main town Pahalgam. He also inspected the conveyance facilities on petrol pumps.
Reviewing the ongoing work on additional helipads at Pahalgam, the DC held detailed discussion with the implementing agency. He was apprised that work is being executed as per timeline and additional helipads will be ready soon.
The DC was accompanied by CPO, CEO PDA, CMO, SDM Pahalgam, Ex. Engineer R&B Anantnag and PCD 1st, AD Food among others.
