Distt Admin Kupwara convenes Block Diwas at Kralgund, Wavoora, Tangdar, Keran, Machill

Kupwara : The District Administration Kupwara Wednesday conducted mega Block Diwas programmes at Kralgund in Handwarasubdivision of Kupwara district.
Chairman District Development Council (DDC) Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Panditpori; Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir; BDC Chairperson Qaziabad, ADC Handwara, SE Hydraulic and district officers, besides, PRIs and large number of people participated in the block diwas.
Block Diwas programmes were also conducted at Wavoora, Tangdar, Keran and Machill.
Addressing the public darbar at Kralgund, the Chairman DDC Kupwara said that the beauty of holding public darbars at different corners of the district advocates that administration is available at doorsteps of the people. He said the Government puts all possible efforts to mitigate the problems of the people in a time bound manner and assured that all public demands would be fulfilled.
He complimented the efforts of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara for holding the block diwas in the remotest area of Qaziabad block. He said DC Kupwara is known for his best administration in the district as he has done tremendous development in his earlier tenure and hoped that he will continuously do the same efforts in the present tenure for the welfare of the people of Kupwara.
In his address, the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara emphasized the need for strengthening the public outreach programme, known as block diwas in the district. He said district administration has already detailed teams of district officers to border areas of Karnah, Keran and Machill who interacted with the people of these forward border areas and assessed their demands with regard to development and other activities. The officers also got first-hand information regarding their issues and grievances.
The DC said it was a coincidence that being Wednesday, the officers conducted public Darbars at these border areas and listened to the people.
He said the success rate of block diwas programmes is improving in the district as the grievances come to fore during the programmes, and are being redressed in a time bound manner to the satisfaction of the people. He directed JD Planning to frame a calendar of the employment generating departments for conducting employment awareness camps in the district.
The DC directed Revenue and other concerned officers to keep check and remove encroachment wherever found on State and Kahcharie land in their respective jurisdictions.
He said holding of block diwas programmes, is in fact assessment of demands of the people and redressal of grievances. He assured that all grievances shall get time bound redressal and demands would be prioritized.
Responding to the demand for construction of a playfield at GanaporaQaziabad, the DC directed concerned for development of the playfield in the area.
He resolved many issues on the spot by issuing immediate directions to the concerned officers. He directed BMO Langate to take over the building of Health & Wellness Centre Vijhama for proper functioning of the health centre.
The DC said desilting of all irrigation khuls shall be made on priority basis to provide better irrigation facilities in the area.
Earlier, BDC Chairperson and PRIs projected various developmental issues of the area before the chair.
Later, the Chairman DDC distributed various certificates including category and domicile certificates among the beneficiaries.
At DakBanglowTangdar, the Block Diwas was chaired by SDM Karnah, Dr.Gulzar Ahmad Rather. He distributed certificates among passout trainees of Handicraft and Handloom department.
The District Officers who are on 2 day visit to border areas as per the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara have also participated in block diwas programmes at Tangdar, Keran and Machill.
Block Diwas was also held at Wavoora block of Sogam Subdivision which was chaired by SDM Lolab, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat; BDC Chairperson, RafeeqKataria and PRIs also attended the block diwas programme.
