Police organises awareness Prog on Prevention of Drug Addiction in Budgam

Budgam: Police in Budgam organised an awareness Programme on “Prevention of Drug Addiction” at Government Higher Secondary School Wathura Chadoora. On the occasion, Incharge drug De-addiction & Stress Management Centre DPL Budgam Ms. Insha Hassan, Principal HSS Wathura Dr. Mohammad Maqbool, Staff members including teaching & non teaching staff of HSS Wathura were present on the occasion. Besides, 400 students also participated in the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Insha Hassan highlighted the role of school management in identification of substance abusers and its role in remedial measures thereof. She also laid emphasis on the psychological and social aspects of addiction. Detailed deliberations on various aspects of drug addiction and preventive measures especially in youth were also made. She also sensitized the students about the ill effects of drug abuse and advised them to be part of social awakening process regarding drug abuse. She also highlighted the importance of drug free society and ill effects of this menace on youth and society at large. She advised teachers and parents to keep a watch on the activities and behaviour of students and be conscious towards them.
Besides others, Principal of School Dr. Mohammad Maqbool also spoke about the ill effects of drugs on overall development of an individual and society. He thanked Police for organising such awareness programmes. Many students were also encouraged to speak about the menace of drugs. All participants pledged to never indulge in any kind of substance abuse.
