LG, Pol leaders condemn cop killing

Srinagar : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and leaders of several political parties including National Conference, Congress, J&K Apni Party, Peoples Conference and J&K Peoples Democratic Front (J&K PDF) on Tuesday condemned the killing of a policeman in Soura area of the city.
Condemning the killing Lt Governor Manoj Sinha said “I strongly condemn the cowardly terror attack in Soura, Srinagar. I assure the people that those behind this despicable attack will not go unpunished. I salute the martyr Policeman SgCt Saifullah Qadri. His service to the nation and supreme sacrifice will always be remembered.” “My thoughts are with the bereaved family. I pray for the speedy recovery of his daughter,” he added.
National Conference leader Omar Abdullah also condemned the killing, as he wrote on his twitter handle “I unequivocally condemn this attack on Constable Saifullah Qadri of J&K police in which he lost his life.The cowardly attackers not only killed Const. Qadri but also injured his 7 year old daughter, who I understand is out of danger. “May Allah grant Const Qadri place in Jannat & may his family find strength to bear this great loss. A special prayer for the injured daughter for a quick & complete recovery.”
President J&K Apni Party Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari while expressing his grief over the killing of a police constable Saifullah Qadri shot dead at his home in the Anchar locality of Soura in Srinagar said, “The mindless violence has taken thousands of innocent lives in Jammu and Kashmir over the years. How long this bloodshed will continue? Killing an innocent person cannot be an act of bravery; it is rather an act of cowardice.” Bukhari expressed his sympathy to the bereaved family of the police constable and prayed for the speedy recovery of his daughter.
People’s Conference led by Sajad Lone consoled the killing of the cop. “Heartfelt condolences with the family of policeman Saifulla who was fired upon by terrorists killing him & injuring his daughter in broad daylight at capital Srinagar. May the departed soul find peace in heaven & prayers for the injured daughter,” the party said in a tweet.
Congress also condemned the attack on police cop, daughter n Soura, Srinagar. Strongly condemning the attack, JKPCC Chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma has said that such targetted attacks are part of a nefarious design but the forces behind such attacks shall never succeed. “The government must check such attacks and ensure the Safety and security of innocent Citizens in kashmir,” Sharma added.
In a statement issued on Tuesday Hakeem Yasmeen expressed shock over the killing of the cop Saifullah Qadri besides injuring his daughter by unidentified gunmen. “‘How long Kashmiris will continue to be killed like ducks ,” Hakeem Yaseen lamented . He in his statement sought an early end to the massacre of innocent Kashmiris by the bullets from either side. ” Wether it is a cop or a civilian ,both ways it was only a Kashmiri who gets killed . He said killing of humanbeings was against the tenants of all religions adding that violence beings only death and destruction . He said that the killing spree of soft targets by the unidentified gunmen has turned Kashmir – once known as paradise on the earth – into a graveyard thereby adding to the ever increasing number of orphans and widows at an alarming pace .Hakeem said due to killing spree of soft targets , the people in Kashmir feel themselves unsafe and insecure helplessly . He said continued incidents of violence and killings would badly hit the ongoing tourist season also .
