DDC Kupwara reviews progress of H&WCs, Directs executing agencies to follow timeline strictly

Kupwara : The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara Khalid Jahangir Saturday asked concerned executive agencies to speed up the construction of Health and Wellness Centres (H&WCs) and ensure its completion within stipulated time frame.
The DDC was addressing a meeting of Officers of Health department and concerned executing agencies here, convened to review the progress of Health and Wellness Centres in the district.
The DDC took detailed review of progress of each Health and Wellness Centres and received feedback and present status from the concerned executing agencies.
The meeting discussed threadbare various issues related to the completion of Health and Wellness Centres and the DDC gave various instructions on the spot.
The DDC was informed that total numbers of Health and wellness centres taken up for execution/ renovation is 75 out of which 34 are sub Centres while 41 are PHCs/ NTPHCs. Out of these 75 health and wellness centres, 46 have been completed while the rest of the 29 are at the different stages of completion. 358 lakhs have been incurred on these Centres.
Regarding the accommodations facilities, 58 Sub centres are functioning in Government buildings and 78 in rented buildings likewise 9 PHCs have govt. accommodation and 13 are functional in rented buildings.
Addressing the meeting the DDC asked Chief Medical Officer Kupwara to personally monitor the progress of the executing agencies and accordingly report to this office so that the on-going works shall be completed within the time frame. The DDC asked the concerned agencies to put extra efforts in completion of these health and wellness centres as the health is the priority sector of the government.
