Calls for timely completion of Projects, restoration of dug up lanes

Devika Project : DDC inspects pace of ongoing works,

Udhampur : To review the status and progress of ongoing developmental works being executed by UEED under project Devika, District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Krittika Jyotsna Friday visited construction sites of three Sewerage treatment plants and inspected the progress of ongoing works.
Superintendent Engineer, UEED, Vineet Gupta; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Syed Khan; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Rafiq Ahmed Jaral; Xen UEED, Shiv Kumar Gupta; EO MC, Amit Choudhary and other officers of concerned department accompanied the DDC.
The Deputy Commissioner also visited the construction sites of housing colony, Bharat Nagar, Sangoor, Sewerage treatment plant, SailanTalab, Nagrota road, Sewerage treatment plant -2 Omaramorh, Sewerage treatment plant-3 Sui and Jail Road and inspected ongoing development work over there.
While inspecting the works, the DDC asked the executing agency to gear up men and machinery and complete the ongoing works within the stipulated time frame.
She stressed on inter-departmental coordination for smooth execution of their respective plans, especially the restoration worksto minimize theinconvenience to the general public and saving of time and resources. The Executing agencies were directed to ensure the completion ofrepairwork of Women College, Sui Chakhar and other roads within a week’s time.
The DDC asked the concerned departmentsto expedite the ongoing works of STPs and fixed a timelineand strictly adhered to it. The SE was asked to bifurcate zone wise JEEs to keep a tab on the quality of work including use of standard material. The Executing agencies were also asked to restore dug up lanes immediately and ensure permanent restoration of roads at the earliest. The SE UEED was asked to set up an institutional mechanism for restoration of sites where sewage pipes have been laid.
