ARTO Reasi conducts extensive vehicle checking on Mahore- Chassana Route

Reasi : A special Naka was laid by Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Reasi Rajesh Gupta, along with his team on the Reasi-Mahore-Chassana route to conduct checking of vehicles after public complained about overloading and violation of traffic norms by the transport operators. The ARTO checking on the route continued for two days and the teams seized 2 Vehicles and challaned/ compounded 86 others including 7 for not having HSRP and others for different violations. The team recovered Rs 42500 as fine.
Meanwhile, the inspection team educated the people about their duties towards observing traffic norms and road safety rules while travelling.
The ARTO said that it was the prime duty of the commuters to raise their voice against overloading and use of mobile phones by the drivers at the time of driving. He directed the transport operators to charge 50% fare from students.
For being a tough & hilly terrain, the team also inspected the fitness of vehiclesandthe vehicle operators were asked to keep their Vehicles in good condition.
