National Lok Adalat Doda settles 456 cases

Doda : In compliance with the directions issued by NALSA & SALSA, National LokAdalat was held Saturday on at District Court Complex, Doda under the supervision of Sunit Gupta, Addl. District & Sessions Judge, Doda, whereunder different types of cases were taken up for settlement, which includes MACT Claims, Bank Recovery cases, Bank pre-litigation cases, Municipality Cases, Labour cases, Criminal compoundable cases, Cases under Negotiable Instruments Act, Matrimonial cases under Domestic Violence Act, Civil cases and Traffic Challans.
Two benches, one headed by Sunit Gupta, Addl. District & Sessions Judge and assisted by Neena Thakur, Addl. Spl Mobile Magistrate was constituted to deal with the MACT, Pre-litigation cases of Bank Loan Recovery and other cases pending in the Court of Addl. District & Sessions Judge and the other bench headed by PremSagar, Chief Judicial Magistrate, and assisted by Sheikh Babar Hussain, District Mobile Magistrate (T), was constituted to deal with the cases of Civil and criminal compoundable cases, Matrimonial, Labour disputes, N.I. Act, Electricity and Water bills and Traffic Challan.
The bench headed by Sunit Gupta settled 5 MACT cases with an award of amount of Rs.25,70,000/- (Rupees Twenty five Lakhs & seventy thousand only) and 8 Civil and Bank Recovery cases with one-time settlement amount of Rs.13,13,000/- (Rupees Thirteen Lakhs & thirteen thousand only).
The second bench headed by PremSagar, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Doda decided 443 casesand realized compounded money of Rs.13,10,600/-(Rupees Thirteen Lakhs ten thousand & six hundred only).
A large number of Advocates, Bank Officers, and litigants, Officers of the different departments and Public participated in the National LokAdalat.
Meanwhile, the litigants and Bank officials were informed that more Lok-Adalats would be held in the near future where pre-litigation, as well as pending bank cases, shall be taken for settlement.
