Dist Admin Kulgam holds mega tourism festival in lush green meadows of Panchan patri

K’gam : To promote unexplored tourist destination in thedistrict and to boost tourism sector in the district. The District Administration Kulgam Saturdayorganized a Megatourism festival in lush green meadows of Panchanpatri D. K. Marg Noorabad which is at a distance of around 28 Kilometers from the District Headquarter Kulgam.
This event has been organised by the District Administration Kulgam in collaboration with Rural Development Department, Tourism department, Forest Division Kulgam and Youth services and sports Department Kulgam and event was jointly inaugurated by District Development Chairperson, Mohammad Afzal Parrey and Deputy Commissioner, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din-Bhat in presence big numberoflocals and visitors from other areas.
This festival witnessed an overwhelming response and the meadows of Pachnapathri were seen abuzz with various cultural and sports activities throughout the day during this tourism festivals.
DDC chairperson Mohd Afzal Parray, DDC VC, Shazia Jan, DDC Kilam, RiyazAhamd, DDC DevserIshtiyaq Ahmad, DDC Behibagh, Ruby Jan, DDC Kulgam GhulamMohi-Ud-Din, DDC DK Marg Gulzar Ahmad Dar DDC, Manzgam, JameelaChowdhary, President MC Kulgam Muneeb Ahmad and other PRI members also attended the event.
Conservator South, IrfanAhamd Shah, AD tourism RehmatMaqbool, ADC, Showkat Ahmad Rather, CEO-ADA GhalibHussain, JD-Planning, Zahid Sajad, ACD, Mohammad Imran Khan, SDM-NOORABAD, UmerShafiPandith, ACR, Mir Imtiyaz-ul-Aziz,DFO Syed Waseem, DYSSO Ghulam Hassan and other seniorofficers were also present in this event.
During this festival multifarious sports activities were held in these meadows in which students and youth from various areas participated.
Cricket, Volleyball, Tug of war, Lazium drill, Fresbee, Parashoot drill besides fun games were played during the event.
Colourful and mesmerizing cultural programmes were also presented by local artists during this festival.
On the occasion the District Development Chairperson complimented District Administration for their concerted efforts and measures for promoting unexplored tourist destination of the district.
He added that Promotion and development of tourism destinations will help to generateemployment for unemployment youth.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissionersaid that a series of tourism festivals and activities are scheduled in the district to showcase the beauty of Kulgam for its recreational and adventure potential.
District is blessed with beauty and acquires massive potential and measures are afoot to develop these tourist spots to observe immensetourist footfall at all these places.
Earlier a plantation drive was carried out and Polythene free Forest cleanliness drive was also launched.
