Anantnag : A team of Revenue officials of Tehsil Kokernag and officials from Excise department Anantnag Wednesday conducted a joint and extensive poppy/bhang crop destruction drive at Soafshali of Tehsil Kokernag.
Poppy/bhang was destroyed on land measuring 7 kanals at different spots considering the prevalent drug addiction amongst the youth and the associated social evils, it was considered important to conduct this drive.
FIR under relevant sections of law shall be registered against the repeated offenders. Meanwhile, a stern warning has been issued to all those who cultivate it that no leniency whatsoever shall be given in this regard.
