Kulgam : The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat Friday chaired a meeting of officers to review progress made in implementation of JalJeevan Mission in the District which is envisioned to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections.
During the meeting Executive Engineer PHE, apprised the chair that a total of 107 schemes are under JalJeevan Mission in PHE division
Kulgam, out of which 09 schemes were already completed and one is completed and functional. The tenders of 90 schemes have been floated with a componential cost below 310 lacs for rapid sand filtration plants, besides below 150 lacs for allied works with an aim to get a strong bidder response and the date of opening of tenders is from 11th to 27th of May, 2022.
While sharing the breakup of schemes Executive Engineer informed the chair that out of 90 schemes there are 30 Rapid sand Filtration plants, 09 slow sand Filtration plants, 01 OHT at CheckporaBrazullu and other retrofitting schemes, which all stand tendered.
AEE sub-div Qazigund while representing his division informed the chair that a total of 24 schemes are under JJM in Qazigund Division out of which 05 schemes stand tendered and 02 schemes are completed under JalJeevan Mission in the whereas tenders were floated forall other 19 works.
The DDC emphasized that every effort has to be made to ensure that the goal of tap water to all households must be achieved as per the projected timeline.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, CPO, SDM, ACD, ACP, Executive Engineer PHE, CMO, CEO, AEEs and other officers.
