MC Handwara organizes CD function, Distributes cheques under PMAY (U)

Kupwara : The Municipal Committee (MC) Handwara Wednesday organized a Cheque Distribution (CD) function at Handwara, here to provide financial assistance to beneficiaries for construction of their residential houses under Pradhan MantriAwasYojana- Urban (PMAY-U) Mission.
The function was attended by Chairman DDC Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Panditpori; Additional Commissioner Kashmir, QaziSarwar; Director Urban Local Bodies, Mathura Masoom; Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din; DDC Member Mawar, Khurshid Ahmad Dar; President Municipal Committee Handwara, Masroor Ahmad Banday, concerned officers and large number of beneficiaries.
On the occasion, 05 beneficiaries were provided cheques worth Rs.41,666 each as financial assistance for construction of their residential houses under PMAY-U Mission.
The councilors of Municipal Committee Handwara presented a memorandum of demands to the dignitaries. The demands included various developmental issues in Handwara town including improvement in drainage system, macadamizationof all link roads, approval for new water supply schemes, installation of solar lights and beautification of Handwara town.
Later, the dignitaries visited Goal Market in Handwara town and inaugurated signage boards, LED and fountain.
On the occasion, the local people expressed satisfaction over the new initiatives of the Government headed by Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha.
