Vice-chairperson DDC Udhampur inaugurates health mela at Bharnara

People avail varied services

Udhampur| : Health Mela organised by Health department at PHC Bharnara of Tehsil Majalta was formally inaugurated by JuhiPathania, DDC Vice-Chairperson, Udhampur.
Elaborating in detail Herculean initiatives of govt ‘Health for all’ and ‘Free healthcare for last man in the last row, she called upon the need to speed up primary healthcare in far flung pockets of the area. She further gave a clarion call for reaching out to 100% targets under Ayushman Bharat. “The biggest role of Health Department and civil society remains sensitizing, motivating and making people about it” she said.
The DDC Vice-chairperson expressed her happiness over the initiative of organizing such health melas in rural areas to bring health services to the doorsteps of community. She emphasised on taking preventive measures to control the diseases and urged people to practice Yoga regularly. She also highlighted the importance of various herbal and medicinal plants that were displayed in the mela.
On this occasion, several stalls were put up by the health department and other allied departments.
JuhiPathania inspected the stalls set up by different departments and enquired about the facilities being provided to people. She stressed on motivating maximum number of people for availing benefits of flagship programmes and schemes. She assured to immediately get additional administrative block at Majalta, additional accommodation for PHC Bharnara, H & W Centre Babay, SK Ber, Jansal and Battal.
She further called for effective steps for keeping all facilities available at PHC Majalta and PHC Mansar. She also vowed to canvass for CHC at Majalta and Accidental Hospital at Manwal
The programme was attended by BDC Chairman, MajaltaDinanath, DDC Majalta, Amit Sharma, TehsildarMajalta, Uttam Singh, Sarpanches and Panches of the area, District Immunization Officer, BMO Majalta and specialized team of Doctors from Udhampur, AYUSH doctors were also present.
