2 drug peddlers arrested, 03 drug peddlers booked under PIT NDPS Act in B’la: Police

Baramulla. : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers and booked three notorious drug peddlers in preventive detention under PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla.
In a statement issued on Saturday police said that a Police party of PS Uri under the supervision of SDPO Uri Junaid Wali at a checkpoint established at Sarie Bandi Uri arrested two drug peddlers identified as Nazir Deen Bhatti son of Karam Deen Bhatti resident of Hadi Madiyan Kamalkote and Nazar Ahmad Bhatti son of Bawar Ali Bhatti resident of Kaieyan Madiyan Bhatti and recovered Heroin worth crores from their possession following which they were shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Police in it’s statement further said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Uri and an investigation has been initiated.
Stating further that officers in Baramulla have previously arrested three notorious drug peddlers involved in many drug peddling cases & actively involved in peddling drugs in the areas of Boniyar, Pattan and Kunzer, police in it’s statement furthermore said that the above named drug peddlers have been identified as Naseer Ahmad Khan son of Gul Zaman Khan Resident of Gubdar Trikanjan, Noor Mohd Sheikh @Noora son of GhNabi Sheikh Resident of Main Town Kunzer and Nisar Ahmad Dar @NisarShoda son of GhRasool Dar resident of Rengi, Baramulla.
“ The said drug peddlers have been detained under PIT NDPS Act through orders issued by Div Com Kashmir and lodged in District Jail Poonch and District Jail Kishtwar to prevent them from committing any such offence”, reads further the above referred police statement.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law, stating therein further that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
