B’la: As part of the Union Government’s special health outreach programme, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Bhupinder Kumar Wednesday inaugurated Mega Block Health Mela in the border region, Uri of Baramulla district in which people in large numbers participated.
The programme was organised by Health Department Baramulla in collaboration with other stakeholders aimed to provide health education, and early diagnosis besides providing health care services, free of cost.
On the occasion, Consultation and Diagnostic services were provided to more than 2000 people of Uri and its adjoining areas. The people were also provided with some public services including distribution of SEHAT cards, Job Cards, farming tools and equipments among the identified beneficiaries.
After inaugurating the Mela, the DC said that the programme is aimed to educate the people about different healthcare services besides offering them free consultation and diagnosis health service. He said that Block Health Melas are being conducted throughout the district which are acting as central points where some of the basic public services are delivered among the people besides educating them about their benefits and entitlements.
He also complimented all the participants and urged the people to come forward and avail benefits that may reach to them through such programmes. He further reiterated his commitment of providing all the public services in an efficient and hassle free manner.
Meanwhile, several stalls were installed by different departments wherein they were displaying their programmes and services meant for the welfare of the people.
SDM Uri, HarvinderSingh,DDC member Uri,BDC chairperson, PRIs, functionaries of Concerned departments including Block Medical Officer ,Block Development officers among other stakeholders were present on the occasion.
