Kishtwar : As part of “AzadiKaAmrutMahotsav,” the District Child Protection Office, Kishtwar, under the aegis of Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) Tuesday carried out an awareness drive on child labour and sensitized the people about the child rights here in the Kishtwar township.
The ICPS team, under the supervision of District Child Protection Officer, Tariq ParvezQazi, appealed the people to raise voice against child labour and Drug Abuse, protect rights of Children and enable them to avail the Right to Education.
The market inspection team consisted of Touseef Iqbal Butt (Protection Officer-NIC), BasharatNazir (Legal Cum Probationary Officer), WazirWaza (Member Juvenile Justice Board) and (Member Child Welfare Committee) Kishtwar.
The team members educated the participants about the Juvenile Justice System and focused on child rights viz a viz juvenile in Conflict with Law and Child in-need of Care and Protection.
While sensitising the people, they informed that the Government of India has launched a Childline number (1098) for the registration of child-related complaints/information and advised the stakeholders to contribute their bit for the betterment of children by informingthe Child Welfare Committee Kishtwar regarding the child labour, Child abuse, drug abuse and other issues related to child.
