Rajouri On the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, a series of theme based NukkadNataks were organised Tuesday in different parts of Rajouri District under NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyan.
The events were organised by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) District Centre in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department.
The artists, through their impressive performance, spread awareness on the disastrous effects of drugs and the role parents have in protecting their children from falling into the addiction trap. The audience present on the occasion appreciated the artists for their mesmerizing performance.
Speaking at the event, District Social Welfare Officer, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt said that the District Administration is making dedicated efforts to make Rajouri a drug free district and keep the youth on the right track so that they can contribute towards the development of the nation.
The people expressed their gratitude to the department for organising such awareness programmes which are the need of the hour.
A pledge to make the district free of drugs was also administered to the participants during the event.
The main objective of the program was to generate a holistic understanding of solid waste management issues, including the best practices and the importance of proper sanitation.
In his address, the President MC said that better Solid waste management will lessen the hazards of pollution on the environment as well as on the public health.
“It is the need of the hour to work out an effective plan to manage the solid waste effectively for minimizing its negative effects on health and environment,” he said. He said that the MC was organizing a series of activities to promote sanitation and discourage the use of plastic and other solid material hazardous to environment and human health.
The President also urged the public to shun the use of single-use plastic and go for the eco-friendly alternatives to protect the environment and rivers.
The participants were also made aware of several measures which can help manage and segregate the solid waste effectively.
