Sopore : Police on Monday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Sopore and also recovered psychotropic substances from his possession.
In a statement issued on Monday police said that a police party of Police Post Watergam headed by DO PP Watergam at a checkpoint established at Chatloora Crossing arrested a drug peddler identified as Muhammad LateefParray son of Ghulam Nabi Parray resident of Hib Dangerpora Sopore, stating therein further that police party recovered 110 tablets of Spasmoproxyvon from the possession of the said accused who has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Police in its statement further said that a case FIR No. 42/2022 under relevant sections of the law stands registered at Police Station Dangiwacha and investigation has been initiated.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police appealed to people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law, stating therein further that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
