Srinagar : The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammed Iqbal Friday visited ZisbalLaam and Hajinnar area of Tral in district Pulwama and inaugurated awareness programs in the respective villages.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director reiterated the department’s commitment to provide every possible support to the farmer’s vis-à-vis technical guidance, better marketing facilities. He emphasized on the economic importance of organic vegetable cultivation for the area and imbibing the latest Agriculture interventions, better marketing facilities which could boost agriculture economy of the area.
Chowdhary asked the farmers to diversify their operations. He highlighted the importance of introducing high yielding, exotic vegetables to their fields.
The Director asked the concerned officers/officials to ensure that latest technical interventions packed with climate related advisories should reach the farmer on a regular basis so that farmer’s arrange their field activities accordingly.
He also asked the officers to bridge the gap between lab and land which is our prime duty to restore the glory of the farming activities and farmer’s will be acquainted with the latest trends and techniques in the agriculture sector.
Further, the Director announced that both the villages ZisbalLaam and Hajinnar shall be adopted as organic clusters. He also distributed Paddy Threshers in the area.
