MSK Ramban organises awareness camp

Ramban : Mahila Shakti Kendra Ramban Wednesday organized an awareness camp here at Chanderkote and Karol area to sensitize the women folk about various women centric schemes.
The awareness event was held under the supervision of District Social Welfare Officer, Rahul Gupta.
The Women Welfare Officer Nadia Hamid talked about women empowerment and stressed on the education of the girl child which is the first step for empowering a woman and nation as a whole.
She also sensitized the women about various women welfare schemes like BetiBachaoBetiPadhao, SukanyaSamridhiYojana, Tejswani, MUMKIN, e-Shram card, SMAS, Women helpline 181 etc. She also stressed their enrollment in various beneficiaries’ oriented welfare and self-employment programmes.
She informed the participants that Mahila Shakti Kendra was a one stop destination for women in need of help
District Coordinators also sensitized the participants about their legal rights and also briefed about the violence and the types of violence faced by the women in general.
The participants were made aware regarding prevention and elimination of violence against them and the role of women for the progress of the Nation as a whole.
