Samba: An Interactive awareness program on ‘Goods and Services Tax’ was organized for the business establishments of in at Bari Brahmana, here Friday.
It was the 6th major workshop conducted across the district by Commercial taxes department in collaboration with District Administration.
The Commercial taxes officials informed participants about the key features of GST, Registration, Exemptions and other vital aspects. They informed that with the implementation of destination based tax -GST, operation and data related to goods and services shall be processed in a seamless manner.
The participants sought clarifications from officials on variety of issues like Input Tax credit, tax on pending stock items, mandatory registrations and GST rates.
They particularly sought information about various provisions of ‘Composition Scheme’ and returns to be filed on quarterly basis.

Speaking on the occasion, ADDC Samba, Vivek Sharma informed that more such sessions shall be held in future as per the requirement of Industrial houses.
Among others, Deputy Commissioner (Audit) Deepika Sharma, Sales Taxes Officers Bhupinder Singh, Chander Parkash , Kusum , Sudhir Sharma were present on the occasion.
