Rajouri : An awareness camp to educate the locals about the forest fire prevention measures was held Friday at Massiote in Sunderbani Forest Range.
Conservator of Forests West Circle RajouriVivekVerma was the Chief Guest and Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunderbani, VinodBaniyal; Divisional Forest Officer NowsheraNeelima Shah; DDC Seot, Sangeeta Sharma; BDC Chairman SeotBalKrishan, SHO DharamsaalNeerajChoudhary HDO,AEO, AEE PWD were the guest of honours.
Addressing the participants, the Chief Guest said that the forest fires have a devastating effect on both environment and forests. “We have to create green corridors for the clean air. A team of fire volunteers should be constituted at Panchayat level so that the information should be quickly disseminated.” He suggested.
He also presented one plant and a certificate to the newly born girl child besides distribution of 400 fruit plants among all the participants.
Bal Krishan, Chairman BDC Seotsaid that all PRIs were always ready to support the forest department in all its matters, be it controlling forest fires, removing encroachments or plantation programmes.
ADC, VinodBaniyal said that it was the fundamental duty of every individual to save the Forests from every type of disaster. Sangeeta Sharma extended her full support to the forest department.
Earlier, the Range officer Sunderbani welcomedthe guests and presented a brief account of forest fires in Sunderbani Forest Range. He expressed his thanks to the people of all the adjoining Panchayats who rendered their support during last year’s forest fires.
SarpanchChanni, Anita Sharma presented vote of thanks to all the guests as well as the general public present at the camp. The camp was jointly organised by Rangeel Singh BO Sunderbani and VedParkash BO Dharamsaal.
DLSA starts 4 day awareness prog on Juvenile Justice
Reasi : Under the aegis of NALSA and the leadership of Justice Ali Mohammed Magrey, Executive Chairman JKLSA and also under the able guidance and supervision of R.N. Watal, Chairman District Legal Services Authority, Reasi, Rekha Kapoor Nischal, Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Reasi Friday kick started a 4 day awareness program on Juvenile Justice in collaboration with the Department of Education, Reasi.
In these Programs an effort will be made by DLSA Reasi to sensitize and aware the students of Govt. High School, Moori; Govt. High School, Katra; Govt. High School, Hansali; Govt. Higher Secondary School, Katra; about ‘The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015 along with its latest Amendments and its Model Rules of 2016’.
Legal Cum Probationary Officer, JJB, Reasi, SunaliKhajuria, will be the resource person for these Programs. She will deliver talks on Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015 and also focus on the core topics of Rights and Protection of Children, Categories of Children (Child in Conflict with Law, Child in need of Care and Protection and Child in contact with Law), the role of Juvenile Justice Board, Child Welfare Committee. Accordingly under this initiative, the first awareness program was organised Friday at Government Middle School, Moori wherein students participated and interacted with Secretary DLSA Reasi and alight refreshment was also distributed among the student participants.
