Doda : To evaluate the physical and financial progress/ achievements of the department in the district, DDC Doda Chairman Dhananter Singh Kotwal, Thursday took stock of the working of Jak Shakti department as per his decision to review working of one department on every first and third Thursday of the month.
The Chairman took an in-depth review of the performance of Jal Shakti Department during the last financial year and proposal for the next financial year.
It was informed that total demand of water in the district is 9.70 MGD while only 5.706 MGD is available at the time given a shortfall of 3.994 MGD.
Under JalJeevan Mission, the Government is working on to minimise the gap and shortfall in water availability to 0 percent.
It was further informed that last year 65 schemes were taken up under District Capex, and 245 schemes under ADP. Also, 189 major PHE schemes with approved outlay of Rs 708 crore have been approved under JJM which are expected to benefit 103447 households, the meeting was told.
The DDC Chairman asked the department to ensure hygienic tap water to every household, for which funds have already been earmarked. He directed the officers of Jal Shakti department to expedite the procurement process, tendering and execution of all the approved schemes. The meeting was attended by BDC Chairperson Changa, DDC member Changa, DDC member Gundna, ADDC Doda, SE Hydraulic Circle Doda, Ex Ens, AEEs and JEEs of Jal Shakti and Irrigation department.
