DC Poonch asks for tough action against illegal mining, dumping of minor minerals

Poonch : Deputy Commissioner, Poonch, InderJeet Thursday called for going tough against the perpetrators of illegal mining and dumping of minor minerals, whild chairing a meeting of Multi Departmental District Level Task Force Committee (MDDLTFC).
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the MDDLTFC to work with utmost coordination to plug revenue pilferage through such illegal acts.
The DC directed the District Mining Officer to install large size hoardings depicting the notified rates of Raw and Crushed Minor Minerals at prominent places/ lease & crusher sites for the knowledge of common masses.
The District Mining Officer was further asked to direct the crusher unit holders to provide GST invoices to the vehicle owners for carrying of processed minor minerals.
The DC asked the concerned officer to expedite the process of notification of remaining minor mineral blocks for operation in the district so that the general public do not suffer.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the Assistant Commissioner Revenue to conduct verification of land titles and PCC consent to operate given to the crushers operating in the district. The Xen, JPDCL was asked to submit the electricity bills paid by the crusher units to know the legal status of the power connection.
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, RohitBaskotra, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr.BasharatHussain, Divisional Forest Officer (T), Suresh Manda, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi, Tehsildar Haveli, Bashir Anjum Khan Khattak, Hqr. Asstt.(Tehsildar), Jahangir Hussain, District Mining Officer, Javid Iqbal, Executive Engineer, PHE, Rajeev Sethi, District Officer, (Pollution Control Board), AnupamKoul, besides other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
