DMO Jammu launches drive against illegal stocking, sale of minor minerals, Imposes Rs 30 thousand fine on violators

Jammu : In continuation to the drive against illegal dumping and extraction of Minor Minerals, Dr. Gulshan Kumar, District Mineral Officer, Jammu along with team from Geology and Mining Department raided various locations at Trikuta Nagar Jammu and imposed on the spot fine/penalty as well as seized the material and machinery engaged in the illegal /dumping/ transportation.
During the course of drive, Minor Minerals were found illegally stocked at sector 1, Trikuta Nagar and the violator was penalised for Rs 22234 and also vehicle bearing No JK02BB 2064 transporting Minor Mineral illegally was seized and handed over its custody to police station, Bahu Fort.
Another person was penalised for illegally stocking Minor Mineral at Sector 3,Trikuta Nagar. Thereafter DMO also penalised Padder Construction Company for Rs 7854 for illegally extracting minor minerals. One Excavator at Domana and one vehicle bearing number JK14F1931 at Kathar, Tehsil Maira Mandrian, were also seized and their custody was handed over to concerned police stations.
The violators were advised to run the business legally and apply for Mineral Dealer License otherwise strict legal action will be taken against the violators.
