DC B’pora inaugurates two day Science Conference/ Exhibition

B’pora : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Thursday inaugurated a Two-day Science Conference cum Exhibition Camp at International Delhi Public School, Bandipora.
The conference is being organised under Mission Youth in collaboration with Sir Syed Educational Trust North Kashmir Aligs and IDPS.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the main objective of organising this conference is to create awareness and sensitivity among students about the latest advancement of Science & Technology and Astronomy besides inculcating scientific temperament among kids.
Dr Owais appreciated the organisers for organising the event and hoped that it will set the trend for intensified education activities in the district, which is known for its Education, Literature and Water.
A galaxy of experts from diverse fields’ viz. Health, Bio- Science, Herbal Medicine, Physics, Chemistry, Forestry etc. are expected to deliver their presentations/ Guest lectures during the two day conference.
On day first, eminent personalities, which include Prof. Ashok Kumar Jain, Emeritus Professor IIT Rorkee, Prof. Unatti Gupta, Amity Institute of Nuclear Science & Technology Amity University Delhi, Dr. Pervaiz Lone, delivered their insightful and enriching lectures on the various aspects of inculcation of scientific temper among the students.
The technical sessions included PowerPoint presentations on different aspects of General Science, health, herbal medicine, nano technology and astronomy followed by exhibitions on Medicinal/ Aromatic plants, magic chemistry, astronomical telescope, etc.
The programme is open to all schools and colleges of district Bandipora.
Besides, a mega free medical screening camp has also been organized by SSET Kashmir, wherein specialists from different departments participated.
Several cultural programmes were also presented to entertain the audience.
On the occasion, several stalls were erected by different departments showcasing their performance and the schemes they offer for entrepreneurship and other hand holding schemes for establishing job avenues.
Different Schools also displayed their laboratories at the conference, highlighting the scientific activities taking place in their schools.
Among others, SSP Bandipora, Zahid Malik; Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad; Chairman IDPS Fayaz Ahmad and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
Earlier, the audience was welcomed by Nayeem Ahmad Parray, Vice Chairman SSET while the keynote address was presented by Fayaz Ahmad, Chairman IDPS, Science Drama was also presented by students of Hr Secondary Hajin.
