DC Rajouri discusses arrangements for Navratras & Ramadan, Directs for intensive market checking

Rajouri  To discuss the arrangements for Navratras and Ramadan, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, VikasKundal Thursday chaired a meeting of the officers, traders and the representatives of the religious organizations.
Among the others, SSP, Mohammad Aslam; ADC Rajouri, Sachin Dev Singh; ACR, Imran Kataria; TehsildarRajouri, Mehmood Khan; DSHO, Dr SarfrazNaseem Chowdhury; ExEnJal Shakti Rajouri, Mushtaq Ahmed; ExEn PDD Rajouri, AD FCS&CA besides the other concerned officers, representatives from the religious organizations and the traders also attended the meeting.
The members of religious organisations including Radesh Sharma; Anshuman Chopra; Gourav Mahajan; Rajesh Dutta; MurawatHussain; Mohd Hanish Raja; Tahir Lone and Subash Sharma, Asif Bhat, Amir Mohammad Samsi; Shafqat Mir, Tehzeem Dar, KapilSaryal, Abdul Rehman, Mohd Razaq and others were also present in the meeting.
President Fruits and Vegetable Association and members of other associations also attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed arrangements for maintaining sanitation in town, traffic management, functioning of street lights, health facilities and other arrangements.
Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned Executive Engineers from the Jal Shakti and PDD to keep the field staff in ready mode to attend to the public grievances and complaints with regard to water and power supply.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned officer from the FCS&CA, Food Safety and Legal Metrology to conduct market inspection regularly to keep check on hoarding, black-marketing overpricing of the essential commodities during the auspicious days. They were also directed to lift the samples of Milk on a daily basis to check for any adulteration.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed the AD FCS&CA to enforce the notified rates of items and the list of the same was displayed in all the shops operating in the district. He also directed to ensure adequate stocks of LPG on the scheduled days.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the EO Municipalities to maintain proper cleanliness and sanitation in the towns of their respective jurisdictions.
They were also asked to conduct a massive sanitation drive for one month, particularly around the religious places. The EO was also directed to change the timing of the lifting of garbage from the city. He was also directed to ensure functioning of street lights in the town.
The concerned officer from the Fire services has been directed to keep available the fire tanker service to meet out any eventuality due to a sudden break of fire.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the general public to celebrate the holy festivals by following the COVID19 protocols to avoid the risk of Corona Virus infection.
Deputy Commissioner also emphasized utilizing the occasion for long-term and permanent improvement in facilities like essentials supply, cleanliness and sanitation, healthcare, and other civic amenities.
The matter of defunct street lights was also discussed in the meeting.
