DYSSO Kishtwar organises Cross Country Run at Padder

Kishtwar : Department of Youth Services and Sports Kishtwar Thursday organised a Cross Country Run here at Padder.
The event was conducted by I/C Zonal Physical Education Officer Ram Loki, under the overall supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer KharatiLal Sharma.
Over 100 students participated in the Cross Country Run which started from Tehsil Office Atholi. Principal Higher Secondary School AtholiPadder, Mangal Singh was the Chief Guest and flagged off the runners.
The students ran from the Tehsil office Atholi to KundalPaddar.
On the occasion, DYSSO Kishtwar also educated the participants about the benefits of sports activities in daily life.
He urged the youth to participate in the Sports and stay away from evils like drugs and utilise their energy and talent for the development of Nation.
DYSSO Shopian chairs meeting

Shopian: The District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Shopian, Gurmukh Singh Dutta Thursday convened a meeting to take account of the activities being conducted by the department in all the Zones of the district at Mini Secretariat Arhama, here.
The meeting was informed that the calendar under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ was followed in letter and spirit across the district by the department.
A threadbare discussion was held on progress and achievements made and the pace of registering teams for YSS cup at Panchayat Level.
Dutta provided details about the status of completed works and on-going projects; however, augmentation of the Sports Infrastructure scheme was also discussed threadbare on the occasion.
Many other issues pertaining to the smooth functioning of the department were also discussed in the daylong meeting.
DYS&SO in his closing remarks stressed upon the officers and officials of the department to follow a calendar of activities while obeying all the Covid-19 related SOPs. He directed to prioritise the work of publicity in their respective zones.
He also directed the field officers to keep a close vigil of the developmental works pertaining to the sports infrastructure, play fields and other activities and emphasised for activating their developmental activities to facilitate those students eager to participate in physical exercises.
Among others, Lecturers, Physical Education Teachers, Staff members of Youth Services and Sports district Shopian and other concerned were present in the meeting.
