3-Day workshop on Research Methodology begins at KU’s South Campus

Anantnag A three day workshop on Research Methodology commenced on Monday at KU’s South Campus Anantnag with an aim to acquaint the research scholars with the trending research methodologies to be implemented vis-à-vis conduct of research in various disciplines.
The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla was chief guest at the inaugural session of the seminar, while as Dean Biological Sciences, University of Kashmir, Prof. Zaffar Ahmad Reshi and Prof. Mahmood Ahmad Khan, Department of Education graced the occasion as special guests.
The event was attended by as many as 100 Research Scholars from multiple subjects.
Director, South Campus, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Khanday gave a detailed account of the three day workshop and stated that there is a dire need to conduct analytical research for finding viable solutions to the problems emerging in the current era.
Dr. Piyush Singla was felicitated on the occasion by Prof. Zaffar Ahmad Reshi.
Dr. Singla while delivering the speech reiterated that concerted efforts are to be put in by the brilliant minds to come up with new ideas so as to cater to the need of the society in general and institutions in particular. He further shared his experience of having delivered very diligently towards the health care system in Udhampur.
He assured that District Administration Anantnag will collaborate with the Campus to conduct various workshops for the masses in general and to sensitize the people regarding the practicability of the empirical research. He further went on to say that District Administration Anantnag will provide every possible support towards the development of Campus in various manners.He was impressed on seeing the landscape of the campus and complimented the Director for having developed the Green Campus under “Green India Clean India Campaign”.
On 1st day, session-1 was conducted by Prof. Zaffar Ahmad Reshi. He delivered the lecture on ‘Getting Basics Right for Good Quality Research’. He threw light on the quality research to be conducted by the Research scholars for getting original results so as to contribute towards the society at large.
During session-2, Prof. Mahmood Ahmad Khan delivered a lecture on ‘Experimental Research’. He gave a detailed overview of the experimental research viz. Sampling, T-test, ANOVA and LSD test.
Dr. Irfana Baba, Convener of the Workshop, lauded the concerted efforts of teaching and non- teaching staff in making the workshop a grand success.
