Div Com(J) reviews progress under Distt Capex Budget, other development activities in Reasi

Reasi: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer Thursday conducted an exhaustive review of the physical and financial progress achieved under District Capex 2021-22, UT components, Central Sponsored schemes, Loan components, Area Development Fund Plan and NABARD component.
The Div Com took a comprehensive review of sector wise works being executed under different departments.
The Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Babila Rakwal briefed the Div Com about the physical and financial status of different projects and expenditure incurred thereunder.
It was informed that 80 percent targets have been achieved with the completion of 10198 works under District Capex Budget, while 84 percent progress has been achieved under centrally sponsored schemes. Regarding MGNREGA, the meeting was informed that out of 3600 taken up works, 3222 have been completed till date.
Dr. Raghav Langer expressed dismay over low expenditure under some components in the district and directed the concerned departments to resolve the issues hampering developmental activities and ensure timely completion of all the works.
The Rural Development Department was asked to achieve 100% target under PMAY Gramin Housing Scheme while the health department was asked to achieve 100% coverage under Ayushmaan Bharat scheme.
Underlining the need to lay special focus on improving the quality of education, the Div Com directed the Education department to expedite the process of rationalization and merger of Schools.
Highlighting huge employment potential in Agriculture and allied sectors, the Div Com directed Sheep Husbandry, Horticulture and Agriculture departments to organise mass awareness camps to encourage youth to set up their own agro based ventures by taking the benefits of different schemes.
The Div Com pulled up PWD for the poor condition of Katra to Reasi road and directed the department to start renovation of the same at an earliest. He also directed Officers of PMGSY to achieve 100% target earmarked for providing all weather connectivity to the far-flung areas of the district.
Issuing a string of instructions, the Div Com stressed upon the Deputy Commissioner to take all possible measures to accelerate the pace of development of all ongoing works for their time-bound completion.
“Ensure productive and fruitful utilization of the available resources and put in extra efforts to achieve 100 percent expenditure in a time bound manner” he asked the departments.
He also exhorted the officers to maintain a healthy synergy with the PRIs and consider the representatives of people an important link in the chain of socio-economic development of the district.
The meeting was attended by Director Horticulture, Director School Education, SSP Reasi, Chief Engineer JPDCL, Deputy Director Animal Husbandry, Dy. Director FCS&CA, Astt. Director Social Welfare, Dy. Director Health, Joint Director Education, Joint Director (SE), ADDC, ADC, CPO, DFO, PO, ICDS, AD Tourism, ACR, ACD besides other district officers of different departments participated in the meeting.
